Prompt Optimizer ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website www.promptoptimizr.com and the Prompt Optimizer Chrome Extension (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth.
  • Prompts: The text you submit for optimization is sent to our servers to process. We store your optimization history so you can access it from your dashboard.
  • Usage data: We track how many optimizations you've used in a billing period to enforce plan limits.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, referrers, device type).

3. Chrome Extension

The Prompt Optimizer Chrome Extension:
  • Only activates on supported AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini).
  • Reads the text you type in the chat input field only when you click the optimize button or use the keyboard shortcut.
  • Sends that text to our servers at www.promptoptimizr.com for optimization.
  • Does not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or any data from other websites.
  • Does not run in the background or track you across the web.
  • Uses cookies solely for authentication (keeping you signed in to your Prompt Optimizer account).

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the prompt optimization service.
  • To authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
  • To enforce usage limits based on your plan.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., subscription confirmations).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
  • Google Gemini API: Your prompt text is sent to the Gemini API for optimization processing.
  • Payment processor (Whop): To manage subscriptions. We do not store your payment card details.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics): Anonymous usage data.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored as secure, HTTP-only cookies. We use industry-standard security practices including CSRF protection and rate limiting.

7. Data Retention

Your optimization history is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual history items from your dashboard at any time. If you delete your account, all associated data is removed.

You can:
  • Access your data through the dashboard.
  • Delete your optimization history at any time.
  • Request account deletion by contacting us.
  • Sign out and revoke Google OAuth access at any time.
